SEMINARS
- Succession Planning: A majority of law firms and solos are neglecting this essential aspect of strategic planning. Lawyers have responsibilities to protect their client’s interests, and some of these responsibilities extend beyond an active career. Failure to actively plan for succession can also negatively impact associate retention. Many firms will face future implosion if they do not begin planning right now.
- Manage the Demands of This Profession While Making the Most of Your Times: Managing mountains of information, while coping with the relentless daily responsibilities of servicing your clients, can be a stressful and daunting task for any attorney. This fastpaced session addresses the persistent challenges you are likely to face, and explores the techniques to help you meet those challenges head-on and stay on top of your game. This session examines the variety of reasons we fail to maximize productivity. It illuminates how to incorporate better organization and communication, and how to overcome procrastination, to ensure that work flows smoothly and efficiently, while avoiding ethical blunders and disciplinary complaints. This course is suitable for office administrators, paralegals and key staff in addition to attorneys.
- What You Don't Know Can Hurt You - Tech Tips: Cybersecurity can be scary for lawyers. And a pandemic and “working” from home can make it scarier. But it doesn’t have to be. The program will discuss lawyers’ ethical obligations for cybersecurity of client confidential information and very specific applications of the ethics rules and obligations, and how they apply to a number of common technology tools used by lawyers and law firms. Attorneys will walk away with specific and tangible suggestions for how to be safer, a little bit at a time, every day.
