2017 Wills for Heroes Registration Opens
The Erie County Bar Association will be hosting its annual Wills for Heroes event on Saturday, October 7, 2017. This year’s WFH will return to the Erie County Public Safety Building on Flower Road with ECBA member attorneys again volunteering their time and services. The first appointments will be at 12:00 p.m. with the final appointments beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Wills for Heroes (WFH) is a national program that was created after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks to provide free basic estate planning documents (a basic will, power of attorney and living will) to veterans and first responders such as police, fire and emergency medical personnel.
First responders and veterans are not eligible to participate in this event if their estate exceeds $750,000.
All Appointments for Wills for Heroes are now filled and due to limited time and resources, the ECBA cannot accommodate walk-ins the day of the event. To be placed on the waiting list for the 2018 event, contact the Erie County Bar Association office at 814-459-3111.
