One of the most common neighborhood disputes regarding real estate involves so-called party driveways, sometimes called common driveways. With a party driveway, the boundary line between the two neighbors runs lengthwise down the middle of the driveway. A land contract is an installment sale agreement for the sale of real estate. Under a land contract, the purchase price for the real estate is paid over time. The buyer may or may not make a down payment, but will usually make monthly payments until the purchase price, plus the interest, are paid in full. When two or more individuals wish to jointly hold title to real estate, there are three choices as to how that group may hold the title. Federal and Pennsylvania state law forbids discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, national origin or whether there are children in your family in connection with the purchase, financing or rental of residential property. Depending on the circumstances, if you have been discriminated against for any of these reasons you may have a legal cause of action against the person or organization responsible. Buying a home may well be the largest financial transaction in which you will be involved. Under Pennsylvania’s auto insurance law, all insurance companies offer many choices in the types and the dollar amounts of insurance coverage. One important choice you will make is choosing either the "limited tort" and "full tort" option. Under the "limited tort" option, you give up all rights to receive any compensation from a negligent driver who causes bodily injury to you or a family member unless you suffer a serious bodily injury. In Pennsylvania, you are required by law to carry auto insurance. Auto insurance may be complicated and confusing at times. The Pennsylvania Insurance Department wants you to know the facts - not the myths - about your auto insurance. If you are injured as a result of another person's conduct, because of the condition of their property, or because of a machine or product malfunction, you may be able to sue for money damages to compensate you for injuries, pain, and suffering, inconveniences and loss of wages. Libel and Slander are forms of defamation. A defamatory statement is one that tends to disparage reputation or holds a person open to public ridicule, hatred, and contempt or tends to lower him/her in the estimation of the community. If you were employed, but now have lost your job, and you meet certain legal requirements, you may be entitled to weekly monetary payments under the Unemployment Compensation Law of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. These benefits vary, depending on your prior earnings.
